This is a performance poem for 8 young voices singing at the end of the world.
take rimbaud is a post-dramatic adaptation of Arthur Rimbaud's iconic poem, 'A Season in Hell'. Rimbaud appears alongside incarnations of poets Sylvia Plath, Paul Verlaine, and Sappho in this anachronistic mash up of rave, theatre, lecture, and drinking games positing hell as the nightmare experience of contemporary canadian youth searching for meaning amidst catastrophic capitalism.
take rimbaud was a featured project at The Banff Centre for the Arts National Playwrights Colony. PARADIGM partnered with The Howland Company during their RBC Emerging Theatre Company Residency at Canadian Stage. In May of 2016 we spent 2 weeks experimenting with the piece and presented our findings to an over-sold crowd at Canadian Stage Berkeley Theatre.

The Playwright acknowledges the assistance of the 2016 Banff Playwrights Colony – a partnership between The Banff Centre and the Canada Council for the Arts.
